- The big question addressed in lab, and a description of what you did.
- This week we discussed the impact of human activities on the increase in CO2 levels and how it contributes to global warming. We also examined different strategies on how to slow down and stop climate change, like transitioning to solar energy sources and implementing carbon capture technologies. We also analyzed data on temperature trends and extreme weather events to understand the urgency of addressing climate change.
- A description of what you learned in Thursday's lecture.
- In this Thursday's lecture, we learned about albedo is the measure of how much sunlight is reflected off the surface. We learned that different surfaces have higher albedo values, and lighter surfaces reflect more sunlight and darker surfaces absorb more. This concept is important in understanding climate change because changes in albedo can impact the Earth's temperature and weather patterns.
